Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 September 2026
SaveForMeNow ("SaveForMeNow", "we", "us") runs the website saveformenow.com (the "Site"). This policy explains what information we handle when you use the Site, why, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
If you have any questions, email us at info@saveformenow.com.
1. The short version
- Our file tools (image, video and audio compression, conversion, resizing and the design and info tools) run inside your browser. Your files are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers.
- We don't require an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or payment details to use the tools.
- A few features do need our servers, such as the link shortener. For those, we store only what the feature needs to work.
- We don't sell your personal information.
2. Files you process with our tools
When you use a file tool, the file is opened and processed by code running in your browser. We do not receive, see, store or keep copies of the files you add or the results you download. When you close or refresh the page, the files are cleared from the page.
A few tools may download supporting code (for example, a video processing library) from our servers or a content delivery network the first time you use them. That download goes from us to you; your files do not travel the other way.
If we ever add a tool that needs to send a file to a server, we will say so clearly on that tool's page before you use it.
3. Information we collect
Link shortener. When you create a short link, we store the original (long) URL, the short code, the date it was created, and basic counts of how often the short link is used. To limit spam, we also store a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of the IP address that created the link, which can't be turned back into the address. Short links are public: anyone who has the short link can follow it to the original URL. Please don't shorten links that contain private information.
QR code generator. QR codes are generated in your browser. The content you put into a QR code (a link, Wi-Fi details, text or contact details) is not sent to us.
Download from link (coming soon). When this feature launches, the link you submit will need to be sent to our servers to be processed. We will update this policy before it goes live.
Emails you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it to reply to you.
Technical and usage information. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically receives standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, the referring page and the date and time. We use this to keep the Site running, secure and fast.
Usage counts. To understand which tools are used and where they fail, the Site counts anonymous events, such as a page being viewed, a file being processed or a download being made, together with the name of the tool, a rough file-size group (for example "1–10 MB") and short error messages. These counts are stored per day only. We don't use cookies for this, and we don't record IP addresses, file names, file contents or anything you type.
Google Analytics (only with your consent). If you allow analytics in the cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics, provided by Google. It uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how you reached the Site, your approximate location (country or city, derived from your IP address), and your device and browser type. Google processes this data on our behalf; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google Analytics never receives your files or anything you type into a tool. If you don't allow analytics, Google Analytics isn't loaded. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage (cookies, local storage or similar) only where needed, for example to remember your settings on a tool or your theme preference. The link shortener also saves a list of your recent short links in your browser's local storage so you can find them again; that list stays on your device. We also save your cookie choice there. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and advertising cookies are only used if you allow them in the cookie banner; right now the Site shows no ads, so none are set. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page (see the cookie policy). You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the file tools will still work, though some preferences may not be remembered.
5. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- provide and run the Site and its features, including redirecting short links;
- keep the Site secure and prevent abuse, spam and misuse of the link shortener;
- fix bugs and improve our tools;
- reply to your messages; and
- meet our legal obligations, including responding to valid legal requests.
6. Sharing
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Site, such as our hosting, database and email providers and, if you allow analytics, Google Analytics, who process it on our behalf and only as we instruct;
- Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or when needed to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or us; and
- A successor if SaveForMeNow is ever sold or merged, in which case this policy will continue to apply to information collected under it.
7. How long we keep information
- Files you process with our tools: never stored by us.
- Short links: kept for as long as the link is active. We may remove links that break our Acceptable Use Policy or that have been inactive for a long time.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period, unless needed to investigate abuse.
- Emails: kept as long as needed to deal with your request and for our records.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical measures, including HTTPS encryption, to protect information. Because our file tools work on your device, your files are never exposed to our servers in the first place. No online service is perfectly secure, though, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or limit how we use it, or to receive a copy of it. To make a request, email info@saveformenow.com. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Because we don't require accounts, we usually hold very little that can be linked to you. If you want a short link you created removed, send us the short link and we'll look into it.
10. International users
Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than yours. By using the Site, you understand that information may be processed in those countries, which may have different data protection rules.
11. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other websites
The Site, and short links created with it, may lead to websites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll make that clear on the Site.
