Instagram video downloader

Paste a public Instagram link to save Reels and video posts as MP4 or MP3. Free, no sign-up.

  • instagram.com/reel/…
  • instagram.com/p/… (video posts)
  • instagram.com/tv/…

Tips

  • Reels and video posts from public accounts work. Stories, highlights and private accounts need a login, so they can't be saved.
  • A carousel post with several videos saves the first video.

If your Instagram link doesn't work

  • "This post is private or needs a login". The account is private, the post was removed, or Instagram is asking for a login for that region. Only posts you can open in a private browser window without signing in will work.
  • The link has ?igsh=… at the end. That's a sharing code the app adds. Paste the whole link as it is; the tool ignores the extra part.
  • Stories or highlights don't work. Stories and highlights are only visible to logged-in users, so they can't be fetched. Ask the creator for the file instead.

Saving on iPhone, Android or a computer

  • iPhone and iPad. In the Instagram app, tap Share and Copy link, then paste it here in Safari. After tapping MP4, Safari keeps the file in Files, in the Downloads folder. Open it and use Share, then Save Video to add it to Photos.
  • Android. Copy the link in the Instagram app, paste it here in Chrome and tap MP4. The file goes to the Downloads folder and shows up in your gallery or Files app.
  • Windows, Mac and Linux. Copy the address from the browser bar or the post's share menu, paste it here and save the file. It lands in your usual Downloads folder.

MP4 or MP3: which to pick

Choose MP4 to keep the picture and sound. Higher resolutions look sharper but make bigger files; 720p is plenty for phones and chat apps. Choose MP3 when you only need the audio, such as a talk, a song or a podcast clip. MP3 files are much smaller and play on almost any device.

After you download

These tools run in your browser, so the video doesn't need to be uploaded again.

About Instagram downloads

Instagram has no download button for Reels or video posts, and screen recording loses quality and picks up notifications. This tool reads the public post the same way a logged-out visitor sees it and gives you the original video file.

Instagram re-encodes uploads, so most Reels come out at 720p or 1080p in portrait 9:16, with AAC audio. You get the highest version Instagram serves; there is no way to get a sharper copy than the one on the app. Music added from Instagram's library is part of the audio track, so it is saved too.

How it works

  1. Copy the link

Open the post on Instagram and use Share, then Copy link.

  2. Paste it here

Press "Get video" to see the title and the formats you can save.

  3. Save the file

Pick MP4 or MP3. The file is ready in a few seconds.

Questions

Can I download Instagram Reels with the audio?

Yes. The MP4 keeps the original sound. Pick MP3 if you only want the audio track.

Does the person get notified when I download their Reel?

No. The download happens on our server from the public post, and Instagram doesn't tell creators who saved a video. Still, only reuse videos you have permission for.

Can I save Instagram Reels on iPhone?

Yes. Copy the Reel link in Instagram, paste it here in Safari, and tap the MP4 button. Safari saves to Files; from there use Share, then Save Video to put it in Photos.

Is this Instagram downloader free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no app to install and no watermark added to your file.

How do I download a Instagram video?

Copy the link of a public post on Instagram, paste it in the box above and press "Get video". Pick MP4 or MP3, then save the file.

Can I download private posts?

No. Only public posts work. Private, friends-only, paid and DRM-protected content can't be saved.

Do you keep my files?

Files are stored on our server only while you download them and are deleted automatically within one hour. We don't keep a history of links.

Is it legal to download videos?

Download only videos you made yourself or have permission to use. Most platforms' terms don't allow saving other people's content, and re-uploading it can break copyright law.
