How does image sharpening work?
Sharpening increases contrast along edges, which makes details look crisper. This tool uses an unsharp mask, the same method used by professional photo editors. Amount controls how strong the effect is, radius controls how wide the edges are, and threshold leaves smooth areas like skin and sky untouched so noise isn't made worse.
Sharpening is applied to brightness only, which avoids coloured halos around edges. Everything happens in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

Guide
- How to sharpen a blurry photo
Sharpen soft or slightly blurry photos with an unsharp mask. What amount, radius and threshold do, the best settings, and how to avoid halos.
Questions
Can this fix a really blurry photo?
It helps with photos that are slightly soft, out of focus by a little, or softened by resizing. Heavy motion blur or badly out-of-focus photos can't be fully fixed by any sharpening tool.
What's the best setting?
Medium suits most photos. Use light for web images that are already fairly sharp and strong for soft scans or old phone photos.
Why do I see white outlines around edges?
The amount or radius is too high. Lower the amount, or use a smaller radius.
Should I sharpen before or after resizing?
After. Resizing softens images, so sharpen as the last step before saving.
