Which X / Twitter links work
x.com/<user>/status/…twitter.com/<user>/status/…
Tips
- Paste the link of the post that contains the video, not the profile link.
- Old twitter.com links work the same as x.com links.
If your X / Twitter link doesn't work
- "No video in this post". The link may be a reply or quote that shows someone else's video. Open the original post that contains the video and copy its link.
- Protected account. Posts from protected (private) accounts can't be fetched. Only posts visible without logging in work.
- Age-restricted or sensitive media. X hides some media from logged-out visitors. Those posts can't be downloaded here.
Saving on iPhone, Android or a computer
- iPhone and iPad. In the X / Twitter app, tap Share and Copy link, then paste it here in Safari. After tapping MP4, Safari keeps the file in Files, in the Downloads folder. Open it and use Share, then Save Video to add it to Photos.
- Android. Copy the link in the X / Twitter app, paste it here in Chrome and tap MP4. The file goes to the Downloads folder and shows up in your gallery or Files app.
- Windows, Mac and Linux. Copy the address from the browser bar or the post's share menu, paste it here and save the file. It lands in your usual Downloads folder.
MP4 or MP3: which to pick
Choose MP4 to keep the picture and sound. Higher resolutions look sharper but make bigger files; 720p is plenty for phones and chat apps. Choose MP3 when you only need the audio, such as a talk, a song or a podcast clip. MP3 files are much smaller and play on almost any device.
After you download
- Compress the video to make it smaller for WhatsApp, Discord or email.
- Trim the video to keep only the part you need.
- Turn it into a GIF for chats and slides.
- Convert it to WebM, MOV or another format.
- Extract the audio from an MP4 you already saved.
These tools run in your browser, so the video doesn't need to be uploaded again.

About X / Twitter downloads
X (Twitter) has no save option for videos in posts. Paste the post link here and you get the video as an MP4 file, with the audio, in the qualities X stores.
X keeps several copies of each video, commonly 320p to 720p, and 1080p for many recent uploads. You can pick a size: the smaller options are handy for sharing in chat apps. GIFs on X are stored as short silent MP4 clips, so they download as MP4.
How it works
Copy the link
Open the post on X / Twitter and use Share, then Copy link.
Paste it here
Press "Get video" to see the title and the formats you can save.
Save the file
Pick MP4 or MP3. The file is ready in a few seconds.
Questions
Can I save GIFs from X?
Yes. X stores GIFs as short videos, so they download as MP4.
Can I download videos from X Spaces?
No. Spaces are live audio rooms and aren't saved as normal post videos.
Why is the downloaded X video only 720p?
That's the highest copy X kept for that post. Older and phone-recorded posts often top out at 720p.
Is this X / Twitter downloader free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no app to install and no watermark added to your file.
How do I download a X / Twitter video?
Copy the link of a public post on X / Twitter, paste it in the box above and press "Get video". Pick MP4 or MP3, then save the file.
Can I download private posts?
No. Only public posts work. Private, friends-only, paid and DRM-protected content can't be saved.
Do you keep my files?
Files are stored on our server only while you download them and are deleted automatically within one hour. We don't keep a history of links.
Is it legal to download videos?
Download only videos you made yourself or have permission to use. Most platforms' terms don't allow saving other people's content, and re-uploading it can break copyright law.
