How do I watermark a PDF?

Questions
Can a watermark be removed?
A determined person with editing software can remove most watermarks. Repeated watermarks at medium transparency are the hardest to remove cleanly.
Will the text under the watermark still be readable?
Yes, at 20–35% visibility. Increase it for a stronger stamp.
Can I use a logo instead of text?
Not yet. For images, use Watermark image on each page saved with PDF to JPG, then JPG to PDF.
