Compress an image to 100 KB

Get a JPG, PNG or WebP under 100 KB in one step. The target is already set, so just add your image.

or drop files here · you can also paste with Ctrl+V

Your images never leave this device. Everything runs in your browser.

How do I compress an image to 100 KB?

Add your image and click Compress. The target is already set to 100 KB, so the tool looks for the highest quality that fits under it. If the image still can't fit at a good quality, its width and height are reduced step by step until it does, and the new size is shown next to the file.

100 KB is a common limit on upload forms, profile pictures and email newsletters. Photos usually reach it with little visible change, especially at the sizes they're shown on screen.

You can change the target in the options, or compress up to 50 images at once and download them as a ZIP. Everything happens in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.

Questions

Will my photo still look good at 100 KB?

At typical screen sizes, yes. Very large photos are resized a little if needed, which looks better than squeezing the quality too far.

Can I compress a PNG to 100 KB?

Yes. PNGs are reduced by using fewer colours. Photos saved as PNG compress much better if you also choose JPG or WebP under Save as.

How do I compress to exactly 100 KB?

The tool gets as close as it can without going over, usually within a few KB.
