How do I compress an image to 200 KB?
Add your image and click Compress. The target is already set to 200 KB, so the tool looks for the highest quality that fits under it. If the image still can't fit at a good quality, its width and height are reduced step by step until it does, and the new size is shown next to the file.
200 KB is a common target for images on web pages, blog posts and product listings, where smaller files load faster. Most photos fit at their full size with good quality.
You can change the target in the options, or compress up to 50 images at once and download them as a ZIP. Everything happens in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.

Questions
What size should website images be?
Aim for under 200 KB for large images and under 100 KB for smaller ones. Saving as WebP gives the smallest files.
Should I resize before compressing?
If the image will be shown at 1200 pixels wide, resize it to that first. Fewer pixels means better quality at the same file size.
