What is image noise?
Noise is the grainy texture and coloured speckles that appear in photos taken in low light, at high ISO, or with small phone cameras. It's most visible in dark areas and flat surfaces like skies and walls.
This tool reduces noise with an edge-preserving filter: it smooths areas that should be even while keeping edges and outlines sharp, and it removes colour speckles more strongly than brightness detail. Everything happens in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

- How to reduce noise and grain in photos
Remove grain and colour speckles from night, indoor and high-ISO photos while keeping edges sharp. Which strength to use and what causes image noise.
Questions
What strength should I use?
50% works for most phone and indoor photos. Use 70–100% for night shots and very high ISO photos, and 20–40% when you want to keep fine texture.
Will it make my photo look blurry?
At high strengths, fine textures like hair and fabric get smoother. Edges stay sharp. If it looks too smooth, lower the strength, or sharpen lightly afterwards.
Why does it take a few seconds?
Edge-preserving noise reduction checks every pixel against its neighbours, which is a lot of work for large photos. It all happens on your device.
