How to convert time zones and plan meetings across countries
Updated 23 October 2026
Tool for this guide: Time zone converter
Short answer: open the time zone converter, pick the date, time and city it's in, and the same moment appears for every other city, with its UTC offset. Daylight saving time is applied automatically for the date you choose.
Step by step
- Open the time zone converter. Your own time zone is added for you.
- Choose the date and time, and the time zone they're in.
- Read the time in every city. Add or remove cities, or press Now for a live world clock.
Finding a meeting time
| If you're in | A good slot | Is also |
|---|---|---|
| London 14:00 (winter) | Afternoon | New York 09:00, Dubai 18:00 |
| New York 08:00 (winter) | Early morning | London 13:00, Dhaka 19:00 |
| Dhaka 19:00 | Evening | London 13:00, New York 08:00 (in winter) |
| Sydney 08:00 | Morning | Tokyo 06:00, London 21:00 (previous day, in winter) |
Check the converter for your exact date, because daylight saving changes these by an hour.
Daylight saving time
Clocks change on different dates in different countries: the UK and EU change on the last Sunday of March and October, the USA and Canada on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November, and many countries in Asia and Africa don't change at all. Southern-hemisphere countries such as Australia move their clocks in the opposite season.
Unusual offsets
Some places are 30 or 45 minutes off the hour, for example India (UTC+5:30), Nepal (UTC+5:45) and Newfoundland (UTC−3:30). The converter shows them exactly.
Questions
What is UTC?
Coordinated Universal Time, the reference every time zone is measured from. London is UTC+0 in winter and UTC+1 in summer.
Why does a meeting show the wrong time after the clocks change?
The countries changed their clocks on different days. Re-check meetings in the weeks around March and October.
