PhoneFormatLength
iPhoneM4R40 seconds or less
AndroidMP3No strict limit; 30 seconds is typical

Step by step

  1. Open the ringtone maker and add a song or a video.
  2. Set the start and end. Use the chorus: play the song in any player and note when it starts.
  3. Keep the 1-second fade in and 2-second fade out, which sound smooth on any phone.
  4. Choose M4R or MP3 and download.

Everything happens in your browser.

Add it to an iPhone

  1. Connect the iPhone to a computer.
  2. Open Finder (Mac) or iTunes (Windows).
  3. Drag the M4R file onto your iPhone in the sidebar.
  4. On the iPhone: Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone, and pick it.

Add it to an Android phone

  1. Copy the MP3 to your phone (USB, Google Drive or email).
  2. Go to Settings → Sound → Ringtone and choose it. Menu names vary by phone.

More control

For exact start and end times, fades and formats like WAV, use trim audio. To make an alarm or notification sound, cut a shorter clip of 2–5 seconds.

Questions

Can I make a ringtone from a TikTok or YouTube video?

Yes, from a video file you've saved and have the right to use. Add the video and its sound is used.

Why doesn't my iPhone ringtone appear?

It's probably longer than 40 seconds or not an M4R file. Make it again with the iPhone option selected.
